Shine Poetry Quarterly Issue 6

Getting your poetry published by others is a major milestone for poets – for a writer of any genre I would guess. It is confirmation that your writing resonates, and you found a style that appeals to others. It is really hard to get published though. Magazines or presses get hundreds of submissions for every issue, and it’s standard to get a lot of rejections as a writer/poet. It can be disheartening, but it’s helpful to know everyone is in the same boat, especially at the start of their writing journey.

So I was thrilled – to say the least! – when Samantha Terrell, who runs Shine Poetry, answered me the same day I submitted three poems, and said she would publish two of them online AND in the spring Quarterly. RESULT! You can read ‘Ajar’ and ‘A Burning’ by clicking the button below or buy the Quarterly on Amazon.

You can let me know what you think of my poems either on Social Media or in the comments. Thanks for reading!
